The Fine Print That Is Extra Bolded For Fun: In order to book a Geisha or Samurai Makeover appointment time, reservations must be made with a minimum non-refundable deposit of $50.
FAQ:
Ok, how do I book a reservation?
In order to book a Geisha or Samurai Makeover appointment time, reservations must be made with a minimum non-refundable deposit of $50. This is to ensure that is our Geisha wigs in stock do not fit, then we can opt to do the Kimono Makeover instead with no further cost to you past the $50 deposit. If booked for a Geisha or Samurai package, the remaining balance for the applicable package must be made immediately after the selection of the kimono to be worn. Please click the link below, select the day your would prefer to have your photo shoot from the drop-down menu on the page, and we will contact you promptly to confirm your time. We will send you an email with available times for that day.
What do I need to wear to the makeover?
We will provide v-neck t-shirts to all those being dressed. Please do not wear anything too bulky i.e, lolita skirts and petticoats. Leggings, pants, and slim skirts are preferred. We will provide an area for you to store your belongings within your sight at all times during the makeover and photo shoot.
Will you remove the makeup when finished if I am doing the Geisha Makeover?
Baby wipes, water, facial soap, and towels will all be provided. The makeup comes off fairly easily. However, that won't stop us from daring you to run around the convention with it on.
Can you reapply my cosplay makeup and restyle my hair?
Please be aware that if you are booking with the intent to do the Geisha Makeover, all makeup will be removed and the hair will be pinned down for the wig. If you are planning on wearing make-up or having your hair restyled, please make sure you bring the items needed. We cannot reapply your makeup or restyle your hair for you.
Can I bring someone with me to watch?
You certainly are allowed to bring in one person with you to watch the makeover, but they may not get in the way of the stylists or photographer, or take photos, videos, or other recordings at any time. We have the right to ask those who do not comply to leave immediately.
May I bring food or drink with me?
Many of the kimono are very costly. We kindly ask that food and drink be left in the storage area. We will provide water if needed - it wouldn't do to have a thirsty Geisha or Samurai!
I've been running around all day, and I'm kinda stinky. What do I do?
We must stress that good hygiene is very important. Otherwise, one may find themselves bombarded with baby wipes, and scolded by a grumpy okasan (Geisha Mother). Please, shower or wash yourself off before arriving for your photo shoot if need be.
Can I cross-dress?
We will be more than willing to dress men in Geisha kimono, and women in Samurai kimono.
How many poses do I get?
At least four poses (each with multiple outtakes if necessary) are allocated for each photo shoot.. Our photographer will help guide you with each pose as needed. The biggest thing to remember is that we are following a strict schedule to ensure each appointment gets a chance to thoroughly enjoy their photo shoot. Additional poses may be added by request for $20 each.
How many photos do I get? And how many prints?
All photos taken will be presented on a disk, and one print of each pose will be available the following day. For our Sunday customers, our Prints will be available after 3pm in the Ana's Ikimaru Kimono Booth inside the Dealer's Room. Disc photos will be watermarked discreetly in the bottom corner of each photo.
Can two or more people be scheduled together?
Sure! Please email us for an estimate based on how many you would like to have in your group.
Can I wear my Cosplay Makeup to the Makeover if I Want to Pose With It On?
Yes, you may! As long as the makeup is only on the face it is fine. However, any body paint, body makeup, fake scars, fake tattoos, and other makeup anywhere other than the face will need to be removed BEFORE your arrival at the appointment. Please take this into consideration and make sure you allocate the time needed to be ready for your appointment on time.
Help, I'm Running Late! What Do I Do?
If you are running late, you may notify us. The Monday before the convention, we will email everyone who has booked an appointment before then to let them know how to get a hold of us should an emergency arise. That said, if you arrive later then fifteen minutes to your appointment, be aware we may no longer be available to take you unless our schedule permits.
What Sizes Are Available?
We can accommodate up to a waist, bust, or hip size of 55 inches in women, or up to a 52 inch waist in men at this time. However, we update our kimono frequently. If you have any questions, or would like to see if we can accommodate a larger size then posted above, please do not hesitate to email us! We can also accommodate smaller sizes.
Can My Child Have a Makeover?
Yes they may! We have special prices for children so please email us and we will give you a quote. We stock kimono for children above five years in age to eleven years of age. However, there are some differences between child and adult packages. They are:
-
No makeup will be used other then a light application of primer if needed.
-
Parent, or legal guardian must be present at all times and have proper documentation at the time of the appointment.
-
No hairstyling or wigs may be applied.
-
Due to alteration of changing procedures, the child will ONLY be dressed in kimono OVER their current clothing. Please ensure the child is not wearing bulky or warm clothing for their safety and comfort
