METROCON has grown over the years and the interest in participating in our events has grown as well (Chess Match, Fantasy Masquerade, etc..). Because of this, we want to make sure everyone is aware of our Loyalty Policy. The METROCON Loyalty Policy states that once a person has been cast in a role then that person will have first pick of the same role in future shows. Should that person be unable to play, or is uninterested in playing, said role, or if for some reason we are disinclined to have him/her back on cast due to past performance, then we will open the role up to a general audition. We adopted this policy for two reasons:

We are loyal to our cast members. We ask a lot from them so the least we can do is stand by them as they stand by us; and,

Continuity. Different people will play a character differently. They will look, sound and act different from each other. It is hard to convince the audience that this is the same person if it’s not the same person- as an example, look at the James Bond and Batman film franchises.
This does not mean that you shouldn’t audition for these parts; by all means please do. We want to know all the parts you are interested in because in the event someone turns down the part we planned on them playing again, we will need to find someone new.
